Anxiety is one of those things that seems like most people have heard of but don't seem to understand. For example, when people talk about anxiety, they talk about fear. Fear of people, fear of public speaking, fear of [fill in the blank]. What they don't talk about is situations where the anxiety (fear) is coming from? What if the fear is just there? People who suffer from anxiety try to manage the fear until it starts to affect their life, becoming a destructive thing. They even sometimes wait until it becomes a life or death issue.
My passion is working with people who suffer from anxiety. Once people come through the other side of anxiety, their transformation is a beautiful thing to witness. I enjoy taking the journey with people as we explore the unknown together. As with any journey, you will come out smarter and wiser at the end then when we started. However, not all journeys are easy. Some can be pretty challenging, like when you lose your map, get lost, or get hurt. Don't worry. I will be there to guide you. That's what I am here for!
I work best with people who want to make changes because they can't stand being stuck or unhappy anymore. I cannot change who you are, but I am willing to help you make some changes. I will not placate people, and I will expect you to work. However, I will be there to help you with a map, a first aid kit, or whatever else you need. We will work through it together. I am not afraid to go to the depths of the heartache and embarrassment. I have been doing this for so long that nothing surprises me. I am confident in what we are doing, and I do it because I love it.
I have been working with adults who struggle with anxiety since 2004, and there is a reason that I have worked in this field for this long. As I mentioned before, people with anxiety tend to be more sensitive than other populations, and often need guidance on how to obtain more support. I treasure when any individual has the ability to see how special they are and realize their inherent importance. I feel as though certain populations don't always have the opportunity to explore or have their voices heard, and I would like to be the listening ear that they need. I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with all my clients, and I look forward to working with you. If you would like me to be a part of your journey, request an appointment below.
