To Retreat or To Not Retreat...
To Retreat or To Not Retreat…
I remember what it was like to go to a retreat. We had a retreat for my church a while back around Christmas. They did a tea party, played games, and we had an overall nice time. When I think of retreats, I think of an oasis, a place to get away from the stresses of life. I think of camaraderie, being able to spend time with friends and getting to know new friends. So there are a couple of reasons to say yes to a retreat…What’s your reason?
Why should you take the time to go to a retreat? Lots of reasons…
*It’s a chance to get away from the noise that is your day to day life. Often times, we get so focused on what we have to do that we forget what we should do. We should take time to ourselves. We should connect with other people. We should spend some money to treat ourselves every now and again. It’s medicine for your soul and your body.
*Retreats are relaxing. Whenever you go to the spa, you get the chance to do something that is relaxing, whether that is getting a massage, a facial, or getting your nails done. You get a chance to unwind.
*Retreats are for learning new things. They say that you learn something new everyday, but my question is…is the new thing something that you want to learn? We want you to be educated on all kinds of holistic health options, because the more you know the better prepared you are when you need help. We want you to be able to hear the experts that know exactly what they are doing. Often times, when you are searching for answers, you are looking on Google to give you the answers. Google will give you answers but they will be EVERYONE’s answers. How do you sort out the real stuff from the stuff that’s fake? Hearing the answers directly from the source. These individuals have been in their fields for a very long time, and they know what they are doing. They’ll be able to tell you what works best and what cool tricks they have up their sleeves.
*Retreats are for making new friends and bonding. It’s hard to make friends as an adult. You get stuck in your own rut, and your interactions outside of family and old friends become nonexistent. This is a good way to connect with others who have similar interests and similar issues. It’s a great place to connect and find new people.
So if you haven’t heard, we are hosting a Mind and Body Day Retreat in October, October 13, 2018 to be exact. Here are some of the rockstars that we have lined up for your viewing pleasure on that day:
*Nutritionist- This individual is a big fan of clean eating. Not sure what clean eating is? Come and listen to her talk about what it is and what you can do to maximize your diet and your life.
*GeneSight- This is a fairly new technology which we are super excited about. GeneSight is a DNA test (that’s super simple and super easy to use) where you can find out what medications (psychotropic and over the counter) work well with your system, kind of work with your system, and ones which you should avoid with everything in your power. No longer will you have to “test” out which medications work and which ones don’t. Our expert is going to tell you exactly how to get your hands on this test and what to do.
*Trauma- Most individuals that struggle with trauma are too afraid to revisit it. Art is a unique modality that allows someone to explore traumatic experiences without verbalizing the event. This individual will be doing an activity to explore your inner self.
*Reiki- Ever wondered what Reiki is? Come find out all of the intricate details of what someone in this profession can do for you.
*CBD Oil/Medical Cards- I’ve gotten so many different questions about CBD Oil and if it’s a good fit for people. There has been a recent surge in interest regarding CBD Oil. Our speaker is going to delve into benefits of CBD Oil and isolates and everything you could possibly want to know about this topic.
Finally, we are going to have some extras at our event as well. Lunch/Snacks, mini manicure, mini massage, raffle (with some really cool prizes), games, swag bags, and more. Interested in coming to our event? Here’s the details:
October 13, 2018 from 9 AM- 5 PM
Johnsburg Community Club in Johnsburg, Illinois
Reservations are required and seating is limited. You can grab your tickets here.
P.S. The event ticket does not cover the cost of the event. It barely covers the cost of the supplies. We are doing this, because knowledge is power, and we want you to have the opportunity of a lifetime. It’s a unique opportunity for you to be able to hear these experts in person and be able to see all of the really cool things that they have to offer. The trauma activity alone costs $60.00 per person, and that’s just one person. :-D
